Years ago my mother and Jeannie Poitraw drove into the nearby Presque Isle to do some last minute Christmas shopping. Jeannie's daughter Jolene kept me company while they were away and I remember her in her ripped up jeans and leather motorcycle jacket listening to Bon Jovi's Slippery when Wet on vinyl. She was 17. I was 10 or 11. I remember thinking how cool she was and hoping I could be that rad when I got to high school. Her boyfriend came over to make out with her. I think they may have smoked pot or drank. Something that seemed so bad-ass to me at the time.
Bullets always remind me of her. Maybe it has something to do with the lyric, "shot through the heart and you're to clame, darlin' you give love a bad name..."
This skinny real bullet hangs from 2 pieced together fine gold chains and has a small toggle clasp. hangs just past mid-torso.
